Terms of use
Version of 1 October 2026, for the public preview (beta).
These terms are written to be read. By creating an account, you agree to them and to the privacy policy. Before any recording comes in, your dashboard also asks you to read four short points and tick one box to agree to them. Everything in them is repeated here.
Who can use Hearally
- You must be 18 or older.
- You create your own account and hold it. Nobody can sign up on your behalf, and you may not create an account for someone else.
- You are the account holder: you own your data and you set the rules for who hears what.
What Hearally is, and is not
Hearally passes along things that were mentioned out loud near your Plaud recorder to the people you choose. It reports what was said. It does not detect what happened.
- Hearally is not for emergencies. If someone needs help now, call 911.
- Hearally is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor any health condition.
- It reports things that were said out loud. It does not detect falls, accidents or illness.
- It will miss things, and it will sometimes pass along something that turns out to be nothing.
- Nobody is standing by. Messages go to the people you choose, and there is no promise that anyone sees or acts on one.
- Care decisions are yours.
Your responsibilities
- Record lawfully. Only record conversations you have the legal right to record. Some places, including several US states, require everyone in a conversation, phone calls included, to agree to being recorded. Where the law requires that, get agreement first. You are responsible for what you record and upload, not Hearally.
- Use Hearally for yourself, not to watch over another adult without their knowledge and agreement.
- Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used it.
- Do not try to break, overload or get around Hearally’s security, or use it to send messages to people who have not agreed to receive them.
The public preview
- Hearally is in public preview. Features are incomplete, may change or stop working, and some are not built yet. During the preview, allies are told by email, and an ally who chooses it can also be phoned for a heads-up: at most 10 calls a month per account, only to numbers the ally has confirmed. Text messages to allies are not part of it, except the code that confirms a number.
- Hearally is free during the preview. We will tell you well in advance before any charges begin, so you can decide whether to continue.
- Hearally is provided as it is, on a best-effort basis, without a promise that it will work at any particular time or catch any particular thing. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law that cannot be taken away.
Plaud
Hearally works with Plaud recorders, and support for Bee from Amazon is coming. Plaud and Bee are trademarks of their owners, and Hearally is not affiliated with either. If you connect through Plaud sign-in, you approve that on Plaud’s own page, and your use of Plaud is governed by Plaud’s own terms.
Stopping, and closing your account
- You can stop at any time: disconnect Plaud and any computer from your dashboard, and nothing new arrives.
- To close your account, email us at the address below. We then delete your data as the privacy policy describes.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or end the preview, and we will tell you by email when we can.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will say so in your dashboard and ask you to agree again before anything more comes in. The date at the top shows which version this is.
Contact
Hearally is not an emergency service and not a medical device. In an emergency, call 911.
